My dogs and I take 2-3 mile walks on almost 100% pavement. Their paws always look a little rough afterwards (especially because one always tries to run full speed at any bunny or other critter she sees). I’ve been thinking about trying some paw balm for a while now. I tried the little sneaker/boot type things, but my dogs (who love walks) literally would not leave the house wearing shoes ha…They were kind of annoyed when I first applied the balm to their paws, but after a minute they forgot all about it. We went on our walk and everything was great. I will say, I think this product makes their paws pick up a little bit more dirt than usual, but that’s not a big deal. It actually probably adds a little more protection. I always use a damp cloth to clean their paws when we get back anyway…I LOVE the design. It’s like a giant chapstick. It twists up and down so easily and comes with a snap on plastic lid to keep the balm fresh.My girls have small feet (cairn terriers). I found it easier to apply it to my fingertip to warm it up and then put it on their paws. I imagine with a big dog you could just swipe it on them and go. [...]
