Avont Cat Recovery Suit – Kitten Onesie for Cats After Surgery, Cone of Shame Alternative Surgical Spay Suit for Female Cat, Post-Surgery or Skin Diseases Protection -Pink(M)

My little kitty, Hazel, needed this recovery suit to heal from her spay surgery. She was about 6lbs at the time, so I bought a size medium in the unicorns and rainbow print, and it fit her really well. The size chart is accurate, so be sure to measure your cat’s neck, chest and leg circumferences. There’s a drawstring at the neck opening to cinch it up, and Velcro along the back to keep the suit on. My kitty is so calm that she let me put it on her without a fight, but you may need two people to dress your cat if they’re feisty. She could not get the suit off after I put it on her, and she wore it without being bothered too much, after the first 30 minutes or so of getting used to it.Hazel was in her little suit (which we called her kitty PJs) for about 6 weeks during her recovery time, since she had some complications. This suit kept her from chewing and licking at the incision site, so I would say that it shortened her recovery time overall. She was able to eat and drink normally, so this is a wonderful alternative to the “cone of shame” that the vet sent home with her. The suit is a lightweight, somewhat stretchy material and has an opening on the behind, under the tail, so your kitty can use the bathroom without any problems. Please note, when you wash this garment, it’s important to stick the Velcro together, so that it doesn’t snag the surrounding material of the suit. It will make pulls in the material. I hung mine to dry, just so the dryer wouldn’t damage it. This suit was a lifesaver for my Hazel kitty. I would definitely buy another in Large now that she’s grown up a bit.
